Connecting you to the Carolinas

I know you all have been wondering what is going on with that renovated old house across from Montgomery Road in Lake Wylie???  I am happy to report that we are almost at the end of a very long road and CHC’s new office should be officially open for business early next year.

Our new driveway has been installed, new parking lot paved, almost century old home renovated, and, oh yeah, a whole lot of trees planted (but that’s another story).

Please stay tuned for Grand Opening events in the months to come, visit us for one stop shop information on new home communities or to get a CMA on your current home, and thank you for sticking with us during this journey.  Oh, and tip your hat to our landlord Steve for never giving up and doing it all with a smile J

Many bike riders are familiar with Riverwalk along the shores of the Catawba River in Rock Hill.  With the world class Velodrome, BMX Supercross track, Cyclocross and mountain bike trails, biking enthusiasts in the area will enjoy these amenities in the same location.  However, Riverwalk has much more to offer including a canoe and kayak launch, athletic fields and paved walking trails.  Perhaps more exciting is the planned River District and Town Center.  This planned space will feature a mix of retail, restaurants, a micro brewery, an express YMCA, office space, a riverfront park and apartment living overlooking the Catawba.  If you’ve ever been to downtown Greenville, SC, this is similar to what is envisioned longterm.  Riverwalk is located on the grounds of an old textile mill and the micro brewery will pay homage to the history while taking advantage of some of the structures onsite.  The annual Brewfest held at Riverwalk in the fall has been wildly popular. Riverwalk also has an onsite event venue specializing in weddings and other celebrations. Riverwalk currently has 3 homebuilders priced from the $200s-$400s.  Minutes away from I-77, Fort Mill, and restaurants and shopping in Rock Hill; Riverwalk’s convenient location and onsite activities will appeal to buyer’s with active lifestyles.  Contact us for your exclusive tour!

The Lake Wylie Riversweep is scheduled for October 3rd this year.  The Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation, Lake Wylie Covekeepers and the Lake Wylie Marine Commission organize Riversweep.  Approximately 1000 volunteers are expected to show up and volunteer their time to removing debris and garbage from the lakeshores and coves in Lake Wylie.  Volunteers may register now.  Individuals willing to come with boats are particularly needed to facilitate the clean up event.  Volunteers of all ages are welcome and it is a wonderful way to spend time together as a family, group, or work team.  Many local businesses sponsor the event and donations are always welcome that will go towards this annual event to beautify Lake Wylie.  Visit  www.lakewylieriversweep.com for more information and to register today!

Handsmill on Lake Wylie is a multi-builder neighborhood that will have approximately 500 homes.  Consisting of both waterfront custom homes with personal docks and interior lots built by both local and national homebuilders, Handsmill is priced from the $300s and up.  Both homes and homesites are still available for sale with future phases in the development stages. Handsmill was designed to enhance the natural lake setting and take advantage of the peninsulas and coves it is situated on.  A convenient location off of Hwy 274 and districted in Clover Schools are just two of the attractive features.  The amenity package also draws buyers.  A multi-million dollar clubhouse with gathering rooms and catering kitchen, pool, fitness center, playground, green spaces and walking trails are the centerpieces of the resident facilities.  As a lakefront community, Handsmill currently has one marina with proposed plans for a second marina that will feature dry docks and a boat ramp.  There is also a proposal for a future RV/Boat storage area. Currently, there is one decorated model home and various inventory homes to tour.  If you want lake access in your backyard within a community setting, Handsmill on Lake Wylie should be on your must see list.

Lake Wylie Children’s Charity is a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping children who suffer from severe and/or terminal illnesses and their families.  Comprised of 100% volunteers, the LWCC hosts several events through out each year to benefit that years’ sponsored child.  This year, LWCC is proud to sponsor two children for the benefit.  Events during the year include a 5k/fun run, golf tournament, poker run, pie throwing fundraiser, and the culmination at the benefit concert.   The Parrot Poker Run is this weekend and it is not too late to enter. This year’s benefit concert will be held October 4th outside at T-Bones on the Lake.  The benefit promises to be fun for all ages with live music all day, kids games, bake sales, silent auctions, raffles and plenty of food and drink.  Most importantly, all proceeds go to the two children and their families.  You can read more about these deserving children at https://www.facebook.com/LKWChildCharity  and get details on the Parrot Poker Run.  We hope to see you October 4th for some fun on the lake that supports a great cause!

The Palisades has been a popular planned neighborhood in Southwest Charlotte. Comprised of several smaller communities within the neighborhood, and an abundance of amenities, The Palisades sits on 1,500 acres along Lake Wylie's NC shorelines.  Amenities include a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course, clubhouses, tennis, pool, playgrounds, walking trails, sidewalks and soccer fields.  The Palisades takes advantage of its natural surroundings and this is evident in the windy roads, the abundance of trees and green spaces, and the Audubon's Distinction as a Gold Signature Community.  Various homebuilders are currently building in the Palisades within a wide range of prices and there are several decorated model homes to tour.  New phases are in different stages of development and building will be ongoing for the next few years in the Palisades.  A new proposed town center and proposed high school are attractions we will keep you updated on.  Pop in to the Palisades to check it out!
